| 34 | Carl O. Waibel Jeannette Carl O. Waibel, 82, of Jeannette, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, in the Mercy Jeannette Hospital. He was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Johnstown, a son of the late George and Mary Lewis Waibel. Carl was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad and retired from the Conrail Railroad Co. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a life member of the AMVETS, a member of the American Legion and past commander of the Jeannette Post 344. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, David Waibel; a sister, Bertha Kottelich; and his stepmother, Laura Waibel. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Soutouras and husband, Pete, of Jeannette, and Kathryn Goody Hoenstine and husband, Samuel, of Murrysville; his former wife and dear friend, Betty, of Delmont; four brothers, John Waibel and wife, Helen, of Export, Norb Waibel, of Sebring, Fla., Paul "Pooch" Waibel and wife, Rose, of Pitcairn, and George Waibel and wife, Ruth, of Coolville, Ohio; two sisters, Florence "Tootie" Weed and husband, Chuck, of New Alexandria, and Edde King and husband, Tom, of Lake Placid, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Dale W. Roddy officiating. Interment with military honors accorded by the Jeannette Combined Veterans will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The Jeannette Combined Veterans will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. | Carl Otto WAIBEL
